My Chiropractic Journey

Blog entry 1 – Developing a passion, my goal, my “why”.

At a very young age I was already striving for knowledge. Asking questions about what is around me has always been a huge part of me, may it be about nature or people. This is why I already knew for a long time that my future career would be focusing on sciences. At first, I remember wanting to become a dentist. The next day, I wanted to become a pharmacist or a biologist. I could never really determine what I wanted to become but at least I was moving towards a certain direction. The funny thing about this is that I never even knew how chiropractic relates to sciences even though I started seeing one at around 13 years old, so it didn’t cross my mind to become a chiropractor until later on.

When it was finally time to make the decision on what I would want to study at university, I was with my then girlfriend who’s father was a biochemist and he really inspired me every time he would talk about his job. He was also very sick and I felt like I could do something to help people like him if I would go and study biochemistry to find new medicines. At the end of my studies, when I finally received my diploma, I was at a lost because this whole “find new medicine to cure people’s diseases” wasn’t making sense to me anymore. Throughout my 3 years of studying biochemistry, I found out just how complex and totally awesome the human body is and how impossible it is to control it with a simple chemical without seeing side effects, which would require another chemical to counter it, and so on. We are basically creating disease or hiding it for a moment but we aren’t really solving any problem.

Meanwhile, my best childhood friend was studying in chiropractic and when he started his practice, he hired me as his chiropractic assistant since I didn’t have any job yet. That is when the passion started rising in me. The dots were finally connecting. In chiropractic, I found a science that aligns with my philosophy in a way that I didn’t know existed. There is actually a way to help everyone’s body to function at its optimal potential without invading it with drugs and chemicals. There is a way to actually find the cause of a problem inside the body instead of focusing on the effects and trying to manage them. In the 2 years that I worked as a chiropractic assistant, I can’t count how many people didn’t need to take all there pills everyday anymore. All the smiles that I saw blooming in our office just by releasing the body from subluxations and allowing it to work at its best is worth far more than every effort we’ve put into educating the patients and guiding them towards health. Chiropractic is far more than a job or a way to help people, it is a way of life.

My goal is to make every family live their best life together, a life free of subluxation so that their body can perform any function to its utmost potential . I want every father and mother of this earth to be 100% present for their children and I want every children to make their parents the proudest in the world. I am striving for the success and the health of the future generations, which is in the hands of the children of today. My name is JP Credali and I’m going to be the best family chiropractor I can possibly be.

Blog entry 2 – Every cause has an effect and every effect has a cause.

As I mentioned in my previous blog entry, I have an important background in biochemistry and this blog entry is about emphasizing the principle #17 of the chiropractic philosophy, which states that every cause has an effect and every effect has a cause, and its relation to biochemistry.

Simply by looking at what the word biochemistry stands for, which is the study of chemical reactions within life forms such as us humans, we can already imagine that there is a really close relationship between the choices we make on a daily basis and what is chemically happening at the same time inside our body. The easy way to think about it would be the choice between a good slice of delicious cake or eating a proper balanced meal with vegetables. Most people would agree that one choice would lead to becoming fat and the other would lead to being healthy. If it was only that simple than a lot of problems would be solved by now concerning obesity and here is where the chiropractic principle 17 comes in play.

What if I told you that even before deciding to choose to eat the slice of cake your body already decided for you? Let me explain. Before choosing the slice of cake, the molecules interacting in your body sending signals through your nervous system to your brain already made it clear that you would choose the cake. The real reason is probably that over time, the accumulation of your actions made it so that the sugar level in your blood is unregulated and it made you choose the meal with the most sugar. Now it makes it more clear that every cause has an effect and every effect has a cause.

Furthermore, I want to take this opportunity to talk about this same topic but according to drugs and medicines instead of food. Everyday we make choices according to our health and in life there is only 2 ways that health can go. Either you get better or you are getting worse. While we are getting worse, the usual option that people go to is taking drugs to hide the pain. The sad part about it is that it’s the only thing it’s doing: hiding the pain. Eventually, taking this drug over time will cause you to take other drugs to compensate for the other negative effects on your body, and so on, which is again a good representation of the principle 17.

The positive side about this principle and it’s relation to biochemistry is that if you actually make good choices and take actions to improve your health, you will also program your body to make more and more good choices in life, maintaining you at the top of your game and beyond.

Eat well, meditate, exercise and most importantly, get checked regularly by your chiropractor to allow your body to function at its best to help you make those important choices.
